Wednesday 24th May - walks **** Landguard Nature Reserve Circuit - sunny periods.

What a top day, mainly sunny and warm so enjoyed the weather out in our little garden, me doing my exercises while Mag pottered with her plants, things are blooming well at the moment, we had many swifts overhead, even a fly past from a buzzard being seen off by crows! Then as we had to go shopping at Lidl we decided to stay local for our walk today, so with picnic packed we headed down to one of our favourites, Landguard Nature Reserve:) Walking through the brambles we soon stopped some friendly linnets but not many rabbits today. We turn right to the dock view point where three MSN container ships are in, with the yellow Harwich foot ferry on the beach as we set off towards the little wooden jetty with the Duchess planning the bottom with the large dredger still working up by the dock berths. We amble along the River Orwell to our spot on the old pier at the end where we stop for a yummy lunch, corn beef sandwiches today, we know how to live! We then carry on back to the van over the small hills with purple flowers and sea cabbage, just lovely:) Then a quick trip around Lidl before home for a cuppa and cake, with a visit from the lovely Maeva tomorrow!
